CURRENT PROJECTS



Health Screening
PNANE will perform free health screening in various areas of Massachusetts. Blood pressure and cholesterol screening, blood sugar testing, therapeutic massage, nutrition and health counseling are some of the free services to be offered. The target population will be the underinsured and non insured community members including but not limited to senior citizens, Asian- American community and low income group. A grant awarded by Asian- American Unity, enables PNANE to purchase four cholesterol and blood sugar testing units and supplies.
   
Clothing Drive

PNANE officers and members are requested to start collecting used or old clothing to be given to charity. Recipients will be St. Vincent's de Paul and Vietnam Veterans of America.

   
Nursing Book Drive

All members are encouraged to collect old Nursing books as well as Nursing Journals (2000 to current issues) PNANE plans to donate these materials to Nursing Schools in the Philippines.

   
Bagong Kulturang Pinoy and Other Organizations

PNANE supports various organizations. One example is. Bagong Kulturang Pinoy, Inc. BKP is a non profit organization whose mission is to develop a reading culture among Filipino children in poverty stricken areas in the Philippine Islands. PNANE can support BKP by donating old or used children's books, "National Geographic ", "Life" or especially "Highlights" magazines and helps packing books for shipments to the Philippines. PNANE also supports the Philippine American Mainstream Advocacy for Nonpartisan Association (PAMANA) as first aiders during the celebration in commemoration of Philippine Independence Day in the month of June at the Boston Plaza City Hall .

   
Annual Boston Walk for Hunger

Every year PNANE participates in the event as First Aide providers to walk participants, supporters and spectators. PNANE continually participate in this event that occurs every year on the first Sunday of May.. Members are encouraged to join as first aiders.

   
"Care Kits" Drive
PNANE is collecting toiletries, toothbrushes, toothpastes, shaving kits/razors, deodorant, soaps, etc. for the homeless. This is part of our outreach program. PNANE members are asked to bring your donations when you attend CEU meetings and or PNANE functions and activities or call Eden Gianan at (781) 461-2412 to collect these items.
